These are but a small sampling of the types of things we’ll make together – these are part of our first day!

When kids make books, they want to fill them! In this fun five-day mini art camp, up to eight budding bookmakers from ages 8-11 will meet for 1.25 hours each day to learn simple bookmaking and pop-up techniques and make lots of books and cards! The best part: these are things that kids can recreate at home without overly expensive supplies!

As a lifelong bookmaker who was the Featured Artist in 1995 at New York’s Center for Book Arts in 1995, I bring my passion for bookmaking to my students! I’ve spent years teaching other people to make simple books, and I offer clear, simple instructions with the aim of having your learner be able to easily make these books and pop-ups on their own long after class ends

WHEN:
Mon August 29-Fri September 2, 9:00-10:15 am

WHERE:
DayDream Kreative Studios, a small storefront space located at 35 E Lancaster Ave, Ardmore, PA 19003. We’ll be the only group using the space during class time.

WHO SHOULD SIGN UP FOR THIS?
8-to-11-year-old artists who are interested in bookmaking – budding authors & illustrators, or simply crafty kids. They’ll end the week with quite a few small blank books, a pop-up book, and a handful of pop-up cards to fill in or give as gifts! Your house may end up swimming in pop-ups and books 🙂

WHAT IS YOUR TEACHING STYLE?
I teach a very interactive class. I ask students questions and hope for active participation. I offer clear demonstrations, and use stories & analogies to help students remember concepts. After the demo, I work with the kids, and walk around to help and motivate students as needed!

COST / WHAT’S INCLUDED:
$185 includes the class fee and all art materials. I limit the class to 8 students maximum to ensure indivdual attention.

REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION POLICY:
Please understand that with limited class space available, when you register, you are holding a space in the class that another student could fill. As such:
*The class fee is nonrefundable unless another student is able to take your child’s place.
*I do not offer refunds or make-up classes for missed class sessions.
